Eggnog Ice Cream recipe
Eggnog gives a fun holiday feel to a basic ice cream recipe. It would be great to top pumpkin or pecan pie, or even with a splash of bourbon on top. Makes 1 quart.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups eggnog
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons brandy or bourbon
Directions:
Combine milk and sugar in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and add all the other ingredients.
Place in a bowl and refrigerate until very cold, a few hours at least.
Freeze in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
For a firm texture transfer to containers and freeze overnight.
